OK, this has nothing directly to do with political or social commentary, but I do want to mention "Hitler the Cat Goes West" -- which does have to do with them!
Check it out, dawg!
It's right down there on the right hand side.
I can't believe I just wrote that term....!

Obama vs. Hillary
You want to know what the essential difference is between the two of them?
Here's a thought: one is running for "head of state" and the other is running for "head of government."!
Which is which??
Need you ask!!
Ok, ok, ok...in the USA these offices are one and the same, but this is not the case elsewhere, most notably in the Western world, England, France, Spain, Italy and so on. Depending on which system you have in mind, the actual power is held by one or the other or some combination. In England, the PM has the power [not the monarch] while in France, the President has more authority than the PM.
The USA doesn't have a parliamentary system, so our Prez performs both roles -- and the the combination is not always effective.
The question is for us -- who is likely to perform both functions best (or better)?
One chimera..."being ready on day one" HAH....NO one of them will be!! Only a sitting prez running for RE-election would be "ready on day one"! ANY one of the Dems or Reps would be going through "on the job training" -- like FDR, Lincoln, Washington, Truman, as well as, Fillmore, Grant, Harding, Carter, Nixon.
It's a crap shoot no matter who wins this time! [a "dynasty" in the making to the contrary notwithstanding]
Oh...and is "being an agent of change" [egad am I actually USING this egregiously over-worked term?] like sitting on the corner asking for "spare change"?
Hmmmm

New Hampshire -- Not So "New"?
In the aftermath of the "Hill-Billy" winning, Chris Matthews on MSNBC.com commented on the fact that the polls were indeed accurate. They accurately reported and summarized the responses...and the conclusion was that Obama would win big.
What happened?
As he explained it -- "garbage in, garbage out!"
According to Matthews, many of the respondents simply LIED! They just didn't want to admit that they would never vote for a black man for president.
Is he right?????
Probably....
Alas....
But! Not everyone sees it this way. Most commentators are speculating that her "chocking up" elicited sympathy from most of the women where were independents -- who previously had thought about voting for the "O" man....
Hmmmm......

Obama - Turning? Ending? Closing?
Ok, I admit it...I didn't think they would do it, but, lo and behold, the Iowans have selected an "Afro-American" with Islamic roots as their preferred Democratic nominee!
Now I'm wondering if this may presage a "turning of the page" in that infamous and abominable volume of our history where slavery was accepted and protected and Constitutionally enshrined.
But maybe it's more. Maybe it's "the end of the chapter" of the entire sordid period of slavery from it's inception to its bloody removal in the nineteenth century.
Or, this just might be the "closing of the book" on the whole ugly and ruinous aftermath of segregation and racial intolerance that has plagued us up until the present.
Now, what will the next states have to say about this, I wonder??
Zowie!
On the other hand, the Republicans offer us an affable fundamentalist preacher! Huh?? This guy refuses to acknowledge evolution?!! I hesitate to think what kind of kind of science policies he would initiate as president. [Yes, folks, evolution IS factually true, beyond ALL reasonable doubt...as much as is the law of gravity.] Do any of these Republicans remember their first presidential nominee?? It was a guy with a profound interest and curiosity about science, AND he accepted Darwin's assumptions pretty much across the board!
PS -- Hillary??? Hillary Who??! [See my earlier Blog on the "Hill-Billy" -- it's kind of clever!]
