Pollsters and Race

The pollsters have been consistently missing something -- maybe they're losing sight of the forest as the saying goes. They ask voters whether the Economy or Iraq or something else will be the determining issue for them when voting. But they ignore the so-called "800 pound gorilla in the room."

RACE!!

This has always been the biggest issue in American political life! It's enshrined in the Constitution as well as in the Amendments. From Slavery through Civil War through Segregation through Civil Rights there has been no bigger dilemma.

Maybe...just maybe...this electoral year there will be some movement toward dealing with this once and for all.

Maybe.

Oh....I'm a white, highly educated, older, independent male voter...who is very "bitter" about this omission in our national self-understanding.
